honesty is very important

Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings

Honest is an upright attitude, telling the truth, not lying, or saying things that violate what happened / facts

Is honesty really that important?

Honesty is one of the parents of commendable behavior. Because honesty triggers other commendable behavior.

Examples of commendable behavior that arise from being honest are being kind, humble, trustworthy and self-controlled.

In the Al-Quran Surah Az-Zumar verses 33-35 it is explained that those who are pious are those who speak the truth or tell the truth, the verse reads,

وَالَّذِيْ جَاۤءَ بِالصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهٖٓ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُتَّقُوْنَ

لَهُمْ مَّا يَشَاۤءُوْنَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ ۗ ذٰلِكَ جَزٰۤؤُا الْمُحْسِنِيْنَۚ

لِيُكَفِّرَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمْ اَسْوَاَ الَّذِيْ عَمِلُوْا وَيَجْزِيَهُمْ اَجْرَهُمْ بِاَحْسَنِ الَّذِيْ كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ

it means

"And those who bring the truth (Muhammad) and those who confirm it, they are the pious."

"They get what they want with their Lord. Such is the recompense for those who do good."

"That Allah may erase their worst deed that they have ever done and reward them with something better than what they did."

Honesty is doing what it says. You can apply this to your students, for example we tell our students not to be late we will give gifts for them, then we really have to give them gifts.

At this first point there is a note, that we must say according to the position, for example if you become a boarding teacher, don't say something the owner can say.

Honesty is Conformity of Heart, Thought and Action. Honestly, this must be in accordance with our hearts, minds and actions, for example when there is an owner of our Foundation, we are clean, but when there is no owner of our Foundation, we must also be clean.

Honesty is Dare to admit mistakes. That is, when applying push-up punishment to students who arrive late, we must also apply the punishment to ourselves.
